5 Easy Ways to Make Some Extra Money

Money isn’t as hard to come by as people think. You just have to know how to go about it. Whether you want some extra cash to take with you on vacation, or just want some money to go out with friends, having a few extra bucks is something that everyone enjoys. Here are 5 easy ways to make some extra money.

Landscaping

Everyone wants a beautiful yard. No matter where they live, people love to have their yard all cleaned up and with a bit of curb appeal. Unfortunately many of these people are not capable of, or simply don’t have the equipment for monthly maintenance. These kinds of people provide a great opportunity to make money on the side, especially throughout the weekends. If you don’t mind getting dirty, and would like a nice tan, this could be a good way for you to get some extra cash. Start with houses on your street, and move out from there. Mowing and weed eating are the basic expected tasks, but you may be able to charge extra for brush cleanup, tree trimming and pruning, weed pulling, or flower planting. Depending on how far you want to go in the landscaping business, it may be smart to invest in extra gas cans, gloves, and common hand tools. Landscaping is a great way to make money, get your body fit, and get a free tan. Give it a whirl, you may like it.

Stock Photos

Everyone has a cell phone with a camera these days. For this solution, that isn’t going to cut it. If you have a decent camera this may be an ok money-maker for you. Websites like Shutterstock and iStockphoto are just waiting to get their hands on medium and high quality stock images. Shutterstock only requires that they are .jpeg files with at least 4.0 mega-pixels. The better the photos are, the more they will sell. So, put that under-used camera to use, by snapping stock photos.

Refreshment Stand

If you know anything about economics, you’ll know that buying in bulk is much cheaper overall and pays off in the long run. Try putting this to use at a parade, park, fair, or sporting event. There are always people in need of some sort of refreshment. A person can make quite a lot of money by buying refreshments — water, soda, candy, chips, etc — in bulk, and selling them at a higher rate as single items. The only real requirement for success is a substantial body of consumers. Try it out, and see how much you can make.

Paper Route

This is a good job for all you night owls. If you have insomnia or stay up to all hours of the night, this is a great option for you. Running a paper route requires time, a vehicle, and a set of good directions. Depending on the number of houses you are assigned, you will spend 2-3 hours delivering papers in the dead of night. If you are available to do this multiple nights a week,  you could very well make bank. Try it; if you like sleep better, try something else.

Sell Stuff

Selling things is a great way to make money. There are loads of things to sell, and places to sell them. Sites like Craigslist and eBay have revolutionized the industry of selling second hand goods. You can determine what you should sell based off of what you have and how much you use it. If you have some clothes that don’t get worn often, sell them. If you have DVDs that you don’t watch often, sell them too. If you like gardening, you can sell some of your organic produce at the local farmers market. If you are a pack-rat this is the solution for you. Get rid of old stuff, and make some extra cash.

There are myriads of other things that you can do to make some extra money, these are just 5 of the best. The common theme throughout them all is doing things. So, if you want extra cash, start doing.

I’m a huge fan of selling stuff. I almost always have stuff on craigslist. Yard sales are another great way to get rid of stuff. I’m traveling this weekend but my wife took part in a community yard sale today and raked in over $300!
